Why restore your old photos?

Reason 1 - Digitizing your photo preserves it FOREVER!

There are many different ways your old photos can be damaged in the physical form - or even worse, lost forever. When you digitize a photo, that it, it is safe forever. With the popularisation of cloud based photo storage its nearly impossible to lose a digital photo.

Reason 2 - Reprinting your photo

You can reprint your photo and revive your precious memories. A crumpled up, torn or water damaged image is going to stay in a draw or in a box unless restored. No ones interested in looking a old memories through a foggy image and you are certainly not going to display it. However, once restored reprinting a photo can bring back many happy memories and be displayed for many years to come. It’s never too late to revive a photo and reproduce it into something you are proud to show off and display.

Reason 3 - Save photos that would otherwise be ‘useless’

As previously mentioned when photos are badly damaged it gets tucked away never to be shared. It’s such a shame that this outcome is bound to happen to many photos out there in the world. Restored photos don’t just get chucked in a photo album and shoved into the loft to be seen once a year when you’re digging out the Christmas decorations. They get displayed and shared whether that be physically or digitally.

Reason 4 - Easier to share your memories

Once restored, these photos can be distributed to loved once much easier. Either as a gift or just to show what life used to be like. Some photos are SO badly damaged that they don’t get shared with anyone as they are too fragile to get out of the frame they live in. Equally, a restored image can be shared online for many others to view.

Reason 5 - It’s a PERFECT gift!

In such a frantic world, it’s easy to overlook the past and forget about happy moments. With a polished and tidied print or digital photo you can give the gift of nostalgia to friends or family. Nowadays it’s hard to buy gifts for people, with the popularity of Amazon and having anything and everything at your fingertips people tend to get what they want the second they want it. However, photo restorations can be great for bringing something new and original to gift-giving.

Reason 6 - Genealogy, finding more about your family!

Genealogy is the study of once’s ancestry. With the popularisation of companies such as Ancestry, 23andMe and Find My Past many people have been fascinated with their past. Through sites like this, many people are finding old photos of their families. It’s important that these historic photos are restored by professionals.
